Trade Order Settings for common scenarios
This page contains general guidelines for a few common scenarios. It is not the perfect solution, as every token and situation is different.
The guidelines should be used as an example. You should use your own judgement and preferences for setting Trade Orders.
The guidelines cover examples for Ethereum Mainnet. For other chains, private transactions are not enabled and also validator tip is not applicable for Solana. Thus for other chains you should use the default, or make slight deviations from the defaults.
New token launches
New token launches are usually highly volatile events. In these instances, when manually buying or selling the tokens you will likely need to use higher than usual slippage and gas settings.
By using higher than usual slippage you agree for a potentially worse price.

Slippage (after token taxes): 10%
Private Transaction: Enabled
Validator Tip: 20 GWEI
Gas mode: Instant
Volatility events
In a high volatility event - i.e liquidation cascade, where the price might move significantly in short amount of time, a more specialized trading configuration might be necessary.
In this situation a similar configuration is recommended:
Slippage (after token taxes): 3%
Private Transaction: Enabled
Validator Tip: 20 GWEI
Gas mode: Instant
Usually in high volatility events, the gas prices on Ethereum are extremely high, and the transactions will cost significantly more than usual.
Tokens with taxes
Certain tokens have buy and sell taxes. TokenSight automatically finds the token taxes for all EVM chains. However on some chains, this info might not be available.
When setting the slippage for tokens with Unknown token taxes, please make sure you check the token tax yourself and use a slippage value higher than the token tax.
Regular Trading
For regular trading, and tokens with good liquidity you can use default settings or adjust to your preferences. Recommended settings:
Slippage (after token taxes): 0.1% - 1%
Private Transaction: False
Validator Tip: 3 GWEI
Gas mode: Instant
